Thrift Shopping!!

Hello! :) I had a chance to go to Salvation Army today! I went to find bookend(s) for my text books & found none. But I obviously didn't leave empty handed.....

(I also want to note that due to my teeny tiny room, 90% of the things I buy at thrift stores go into storage for when I get my own place after college. I can't wait to decorate and set up all my treasures I've found over the years)

I got some more mugs for my awesome collection :)

This Lion King Mug! ($ .49)

Kitty Cat Mug :) ($ .49)

(My mom has one just like it!)

Christmas Mug! ($. 49)

I love this one! The handle is so cool. I can't wait to drink hot cocoa out of it with cookies at Christmastime :)

I also got...
A Cat Candle Holder ($2.99)

It holds a little tea light in the middle. Candles aren't allowed in the Res Halls (& I don't have room) so this is going home for storage.

"Oh Hai."

A BRAND NEW set of Cat coasters : ) ($1)

Seriously love these.

Another kitty figurine for ($0.49)

The clerk was totally judging me with all these cat things.

Isn't this one cute? Little bunny & snail : ) ($1)

One find that I was so psyched for I literally yelled "YES!!" in the store for....

Okay, so I had seriously just told my friend how I needed colored pencils for a Physiology coloring book I bought (I'll post it when I get it!) and these pencils were perfect!! They were brand spankin' new, only $1, and...

They had Disney Princesses on them.
WIN.

So yeah, today was good. Or should I say, yesterday? Since I AM posting this at 1am because I stayed up doing RA stuff and got distracted.

Shopping!

I actually did something 'blog-worthy'! (i think!) My life has been pretty dull right about now. I got a small job doing inventory in a museum store that requires me being out of the house from 8-6 and by the time I get home, I'm beat. AND I left all my craft supplies at the dorm so I won't be doing any craft posts until I go back (which is on the 17th) & it's also when I plan to start back up my etsy shop! WOO! I'll let you guys know when i post some products. OH anyways, the reason of this post is that I got some super awesomely spectacular things shopping (not thrifting) but my 2nd favorite shopping place TARGET! :)

CUPCAKE PLATES!

They came in sets of 2 & I couldn't decide between these so...I just got both! :) Now I have something beautiful to display my baked goods on for the blog.

PORTION PLATE! :D

First, I just want to express my love for portion plates. I love them. I love having my food separated for me on the plate so perfectly. Is that weird? Probably. ANYWAYS this little guy was just too cute from the doe to the trees so I had to get 2 (They were only $1 each!)

POPCORN CONTAINERS!

Perfect for movie nights! I love the retro look to them :) ($1 for 2)

BURT'S BEES & NAIL POLISH!
Hehe I don't know why I get so excited over this. But I do LOVE Burt's Bees and needed some cuticle cream & well, I don't NEED nail polish. But I sure do love them! & no, I didn't plan on buying a color that perfectly matched my blankie. :)

These I bought at Borders!

I have an owl bookmark-clip (my favorite!) and a smoothie recipe book (for $3.99). I LOVE my smoothies :D

<3 SPATULAS!
Heart spatulas in the dollar aisle at target. I couldn't resist :)

HEALTHY STUFF!
Jillian Michaels DVD (amazon) & I got vitamin in a powder (kind of like a shake/smoothie mix) because ever since my surgery this summer (tonsils out) I've had a really sensitive stomach and haven't been able to take big pills but I still want my vitamins! So this should help :)

GLOVES!
(Target)
I already have many gloves but I don't have any stripes and these were $1 for 2 gloves. SO of course, I got 2 packs :)
I don't know if you can tell by the picture but the right one is purple.
I haven't really gotten the hang of this camera yet. If I have the flash on, it whitewashes it, if I turn it off, it goes SUPER sensitive and turn blurry with the slightest movement of my hand. Outside pictures are fine, this problem is only with indoor. :( I have a Nikon Coolpix L110. Any suggestions?

When I was all done with my (attempted) photoshoot, I went to pick up my blanket to discover a kitty sleeping on it. So, I just wrapped her up. She didn't mind :)

Enjoy the rest of your week! :)

Vacation & Blog Contest!

Shelburne Museum was AMAZING. I took so many beautiful photographs & only wish I could have stayed longer, but I was holding up the rest of my family by stopping to photograph everything :)
Although I took hundreds of photos, it would be insane to show them ALL to you, so here are my select favorites:
The BEAUTIFUL Shelburne Museum :)

This lighthouse is also a museum as well as every building on the property.

One of the museums had old-barber shop exhibit. Sweeney Todd would've gone nuts!

The Dutten House (according to GhostHunters) is supposedly haunted....

...Yet the only thing I found was this drool-worthy dining room!

I took this to show not only the gorgeous paint colors, but the hanging golden tooth in the next gallery. :)

They had a pond! (That I took tons of photos of)

A Beautiful Boat! It felt like we were on the Titanic...before it sank, of course.

Look at the inside!! Marvelous! :) & VERY similar to the Titanic right?

AND MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!
The 50s HOUSE!
This whole house is decorated & furnished just like a home straight from...you guessed it...the 50s!
The best part is, its not a museum! You can sit on the couch, look through the drawers in the kids room, search the kitchen cabinets, literally every drawer & closet is filled like it was a lived in 50s home!
This is a dreamy kitchen, is it not? :)

They had a sewing room! With an authentic 50s Singer Sewing Machine!

How adorable is this? They even stocked the fridge with vintage bottles! :)

*Whew* That was quite a lot of photos!

We also visited the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. Sooo much fun! Highly recommend if you visit VT, to go!

SO about this contest...

The Dainty Squid is having an AMAZING contest where you could win something from Ark's Endeavors. (They sell awesome jewelry & plugs on etsy!) All you have to do, is tell Kaylah what your favorite item for sale is, and *ding* you're entered!
Good Luck!

Vacation! :)

I now have TWO followers! Woooo! :)
Quick Update: I'm currently in the beautiful mountains of Vermont & anxiously waiting for the start of the new school year. I've got some free time, so here's a nice photo-dump of some pictures I've taken while in Vermont the past 2 days.

The condo had a Mr. Potato Head Memory Game! :O  Amazing.
(There was even a little 'Beatle' Potato with a bowl hair cut & guitar)
Ben & Jerry's has the same motto I do :)

I LOVE the Five & Dime Stores around here!
Aren't these the most adorable dog treats? I'd get them...if I had a dog.
A hot air balloon, seen from the view on our balcony! :)

Cabot Cheese Factory! :)
That's it for today, tomorrow we're heading over to Shelburne Museum, the perfect place for aspiring photographers :)
& I'm getting (another) new cell phone. I had gotten the Samsung Intensity II on Friday, & it already broke yesterday. (Not my fault!) It won't power on properly, so Verizon is giving me a new phone. *Whew*
More pictures tomorrow!

Animal Shelter!

Hi,
I haven't posted in a few days. Mostly because I've been spending extra time volunteering before I leave for college. I did make another adorable cookie key chain today for my friend, no time for pictures though, seeing that she snatched it up so fast!

I did, however, take tons of photos of all my adorable friends at the shelter. (Which, if you live locally, you can volunteer, too! If not, you can help by donating! Their information is here.

PICTURE TIME!

This little guy looks exactly like my cat Spunky
Doesn't he??

Here's an irresistible kitten with fluffy whiskers :)

Mama & her 2 cute kittens :) They LOVE each other so much!!

& Heres one of our kitties in Main Cat Room. Very friendly!

I also baked over 50 cupcakes on Saturday for the Humane Society bake sale. I was so busy that I didn't have a chance to take any photos. I made Double Chocolate Vegan Cupcakes & a batch of regular vanilla & regular chocolate. The vegan cupcakes were DELICIOUS!! Definitely better than the regular chocolate. I will certainly make them again. My picky younger brother loved them as well.

Tomorrow I'm getting a hair cut & I might stop by Savers to do some thrifting, I'll have to see if I have time!
