I've been super busy lately catching up with school work that I haven't been posting. One thing that I'm going to start sharing with you is my journey into getting fit and healthy!
Recently, we had a small obstacle course at my college that I had a blast running through! & I learned something about myself. I CAN DO IT! I really enjoy races like that where you don't need special "sport" skills to succeed, just your own willpower and endurance. I'm getting some friends together and I'm planning on completing the Warrior Dash in June. I printed out the training schedule and I'm starting Monday. I'm going to try and revamp my eating habits as well. Being the heaviest Exercise science student, it's about damn time I start this! There's also a 10K I'd like to participate in during April. With the training schedule, I can do that! This is crazy and a big jump for me, but I honestly feel like I've found something I'd love to do (athletically). A few of my friends are doing the Tough Mudder course, which, I don't think I'd be ready for just yet. But maybe in a year or two.
I'll keep you posted and stay tuned for a Super Sunday tomorrow!
Also, I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!! (I've been working) :P
So I've still been sick. Turns out its bronchitis or something so I'm on two antibiotics and I have to breathe with a nebulizer. Not fun. So I've just been watching Netflix & learning to crochet!!
I started making a small blanket. Mostly for practice because I've never crocheted before! :)
(dont mind my nasty sick face, I'm a mess)
I've already done all this since last night. I've always knit but I YouTubed crochet videos and I really love it! It's so much easier than knitting, quicker, and easier to fix mistakes, too. I'm also working on knitting a scarf. I'll post pictures of both when they're done! :)
The past two weeks (since I missed a post) I've watched:
Hot Tub Time Machine
I feel like this movie was very underrated. It was hilarious! Mostly because it didn't take itself seriously. It's a jokey comedy that was very entertaining! I really don't need to explain the premise, it's kind of obvious. This is a very funny movie, I recommend you see it! :)
I can't say I was disappointed because I came in with very low expectations. It fulfilled those. It was choppy, short, and the plot was lacking. It was humorous at times but I definitely wouldn't watch it again or recommend it. Unless you're bored and theres nothing to watch. I loved Katherine Heigl, however. But then again, she is pretty awesome.
Okay, so I LOVE anything zombie/apocalyptic/dystopian but this movie is just...perfect. It even had a nice government conspiracy-like plot to it that makes you think. The graphics, character development, story line, everything was just perfect. Although you don't really see what happens after this apocalypse in the end, it's a satisfying ending. I will watch this again and again. One of my favorite zombie films to date. (Aside from Dead Snow, of course)
Love & Other Drugs
This movie was good. To be honest, I kind of mixed it up with Crazy Stupid Love when it came to the plot, I kept waiting for Ryan Gosling to come in. haha But overall this movie was good. It had the perfect balance of touching and humor. It dragged at some points but generally I'd recommend you see it! Although for me, it's a one time see.
By the way, this isn't available on Netflix. I watched this on HBO ondemand.
I've been sick since about Saturday. It started as a bad allergic reaction to my cats and my friends' then spiraled into a sinus infection/horrible cold. Been getting about 4 hours of sleep a night. I AM feeling better however, today I went to class and my fever is gone.
I finally made my class schedule for next semester and I'm catching up on a ton of schoolwork that I've been allowing to pile up. Here's what I'm taking next semester:
Nutrition in Exercise Mon & Wed @ 9:30am
Strength Training Mon & Wed @ 11am
History of Jazz Tues & Thurs @ 9:30 am
Literature for Young Adults Tues & Thurs @ 8am
Applied Statistics Tues & Thurs @ 12:30
So, best of all, NO FRIDAY CLASSES! WOOO!
Sorry this post is so short! I've been busy as I mentioned. I'm home until Sunday and I left my camera at school so I can't really do much -___- But I'll be posting Super Sunday and oh man I just realized I never did What I'm Watching. Oh well.
